
Introduction:
195 kms from Siliguri and 140 kilometers from Gangtok lies the crystal clear waters of a small lake ~ Kechopari. The Lake which is at an altitude of 6000 feet is located off the road connecting Pelling with Yoksum and is 40 kms from Pelling. This high altitude waterbody is surrounded by dense forests.

How to reach:
Kechopari is a 1.5 hour journey ( 26 kms.) from Pelling by road. It is
approachable from Yoksum. Buses and taxis are available from both these places.
Foreigners need a permit to enter Sikkim (available at Siliguri).
Places of Interest:
Kechopari or the "Wishing Lake" is sacred to the Laepchas and is a place of worship. There is a monastery nearby.
Where to bird:
The area around the lake. There is a 3 kilometer trek through thick forest around the lake.
