Shoot details
This image is a
good example of using the car as a hide. The bird was flushed on the
road at 4,400 meters and went behind the rocks. A short wait in the car
saw the bird emerging from behind the boulder to give me this image.
Species details
The
partridge-like Himalayan Snowcock is large and bulky at 68-72cms. Found
in the rocky slopes and alpine meadows of the high Himalaya this species
is much persecuted for the table and hence very shy. Sexes alike.
