Shoot details
This image was
made during my initial outing with the new Canon 800mm lens. There were
lot of Munias busy preening and I got a chance to approach this one at
close quarters and make a nice portrait of it.
Species details
The
Scaly-breasted is a widespread resident of our grasslands, open forest
and scrub. This diminutive 11cm munia is popular in the cage-bird trade
and thousands are caught illegally every year.
